An outing for the chicks

We took the chicks outside for the first time today.  They enjoyed some fresh air and pecked at some ants. They are healthy and growing FAST.

We have babies!

Chickens that is! We welcomed 4 baby chicks to the family today. We should have fresh, organic eggs in about 6 moths.

They are 8 days old, born on April 12th and their breed is Buff Orpington. We are first time chicken owners so we took the advice of the feed store owners and picked this hearty breed.

They will stay inside under the brooder lamp until they are big enough to stay warm and safe in the coop.

We call them Peep 1, Peep 2, Peep 3 and Peep 4. (insert smiley face here).

This is Kitty Cat Cash McCash keeping his distance from the new creatures.
Cooper would like to get a little closer to the peeps.
Little Miss Lyla Rose thought the chick was wonderful...until it pooped in her hand. She doesn't want to hold them anymore!

Welcome to The McCash Manor

Established in 2015.

This is where we will post the happenings at The McCash Manor.

Grab a cup of coffee and join us in the garden!

McCash Manor is named in honor of Gary's mother. Home with Jesus but alive in our hearts.

We hope you enjoy your visit and check back often.
